I'm extremely livid over President Bush calling the folks
who volunteered to join the Minuteman
Project "vigilantes". Bush wants to enforce
the law in a rational way. So by that statement he means
the following:
1. To heck with the American people, let's have all the
illegal aliens become legal further worsening America's
plight.
2. Decrease the number of Border Patrol agents (which
by the way, Bush called for the budget to allow ONLY 216
BORDER AGENTS! WHAT??!)
3. Our borders, WHICH BY THE
WAY ARE IMPORTANT TO NATIONAL SECURITY, should
remain open and not locked down to prevent criminals and
terrorists from further endangering the American people,
which he so proudly claims he and the US government are
protecting so well.
I suggest everyone call the White House Comment Line at
202-456-1111
and tell President Bush to stop selling America and it's
citizens out NOW!

Court-ordered
Euthanasia
Euthanasia advocates claim it is not a crime to kill as
long as the victims cannot speak for themselves.
Michael Schiavo married his wife, Terri, "until
death do us part." Unfortunately, Michael wants
to hurry that moment along. Normally, there would be
outrage, not to mention criminal charges, against a
husband who wanted to kill his wife. But because Terri
has been brain-damaged since 1990, Michael's efforts
have attracted euthanasia proponents who claim Terri's
disablement entitles her to a mercy killing though
it is debatable how merciful it would be to remove her
feeding tube so that she dies of starvation and dehydration
over a period of about two weeks. - The New American

America
No. 1?
No concept lies more firmly embedded in our national character
than the notion that the USA is "No. 1," "the
greatest." Our broadcast media are, in essence, continuous
advertisements for the brand name "America Is No.
1." Any office seeker saying otherwise would be committing
political suicide. In fact, anyone saying otherwise will
be labeled "un-American." We're an "empire,"
ain't we? Sure we are. An empire without a manufacturing
base. An empire that must borrow $2 billion a day from
its competitors in order to function. Yet the delusion
is ineradicable. We're No. 1. Well...this is the country
you really live in: - Information Clearing House

Chasing
the dragon
Good news: it looks as if the European
Union will postpone lifting its embargo on arms exports
to China, at least until next year. This is right. The
only thing wrong is that it took heavy US pressure to
make it happen.Even for a dragon with such a hugely
attractive appetite for our exports, those minimum standards
must include a commitment to the peaceful resolution
of conflicts and a gradually improving respect for human

Scraping
the bottom of the barrel
Data released each year at this time
by the major oil companies on their prior-year performances
rarely generates much interest outside the business
world.Given a recent surge in energy demand from China
and other rapidly developing countries, the US Department
of Energy (DoE) predicts that, for all future energy
needs to be satisfied, total world oil output will have
to climb by 50% between now and 2025; from, that is,
approximately 80 million to 120 million barrels per
day -Michael T Klare/Asia Times
